Food Review: Rokeby

Happy Boxing Day! One would have thought that our stomachs could not longer fill any more food after a night of food feasting on Christmas Day itself, but we were to prove them wrong again!

I was clearing leave on Boxing Day and was wondering where to go for lunch before going to SC's friend's house for housewarming. The boy suggested Rokeby and off we went.

Rokeby was nestled in the quaint neighbourhood of Jalan Riang which was a walk-able distance from the boy's house. Rokeby was well-known for its Australian gourmet food and was one of the usual-to-visit place for brunch or lunch :)

Looking through the menu, we suggested to order something new - The Luncheon Cheese Fries. Oh boy, the luncheon cheese fries were very good, finger-licking to be exact. It had cheesy bits in between the luncheon strips and chilli mayo dip was provided. Sinful and fattening but we could not stop popping one fry after another into our mouths :O

Mushroom Aglio Olio - Hero Level

The Yuppie Burger

For my main, I had Mushroom Aglio Oilo. I was given a choice to choose from different levels of spiciness: Zero, Mild, Hero, Legendary. I chose Hero although I was advised by the staff that Mild was the level of spiciness that most customers could take. After all, I had a high level of tolerance for spiciness, so why not try? :P The spaghetti was cooked al dente, the way I liked my pasta to be :) The Hero level was not a challenge for me though, perhaps I could try Legendary next time :P

The boy had Yuppie Burger with chicken thigh and chilli mayo sauce on the burger and a side of fries. The burger was well cooked and marinated with the sauces and every bite tasted good :) It had been no secret that I always enjoyed Rokeby because so far all the items I had tried in the menu were good :) This was unlike some cafes which only had one or two signature dishes.

Rokeby is quite affordable and the prices you see in the menu is what you pay. There are no GST or service charges imposed :) The staff are friendly and efficient, so do consider tipping them instead :D

Lockdown SG: Haunted

Running out of places to go for group activities? Fret not, come try the escape games that had recently descended into Singapore like a hurricane. Suddenly, you found escape theme games everywhere :D

Lockdown SG is one of the places that provide such escape game. The one we visited at Suntec had two rooms of which one was the Haunted theme.

What was Haunted?

Haunted?
Every school has its own secrets. Eager to impress your seniors, you agreed to meet them at night for an orientation school party. No one showed up but you noticed a classroom with its lights on. It was a normal music room, but you realized the door was already locked when you tried to leave...

Difficulty: 5 stars

No. of Players: 3 - 8

Website: http://lockdown.sg/portfolio-item/haunted/

The escape game was pretty challenging in my opinion. The clues and hints were not easy to solve and on several occasions, we had to call the intercom for assistance. We failed to escape within 1 hour by a little bit :(

All phones and bags were kept in lockers provided and no photography was allowed in the room. This was to prevent any details from being leaking out :P The game limit was 1 hour and we have to resolve and escape the room within the given time frame so as to escape successfully.

We had a lot of fun though :D There are many more escape games in Singapore, so hurry go reserve a room today and have tons of fun! :D
