Food Review: Big Mama Korean Restaurant

Big Mama is a place to go to for homely Korean food :D I was craving for some Dakgalbi (Spicy chicken galbi) and was researching the Korean places in Singapore to try the dishes. I had initially wanted to go to Running Man restaurant, but unfortunately, the restaurant had closed down. After much researching, I finally decided to head to Big Mama for its Korean food! :D

Big Mama was located at Tiong Bahru which was a pretty far place. Thankfully, the boy drove :D The Tiong Bahru estate was one of the oldest estate in Singapore and it was amazing to see 2 to 5 storey flats still in existence today :D Too bad, I forgot to bring my camera out. Will drop by again in future to take photos! :D

Anyway, back to Big Mama! We ordered the Dakgalbi and one portion of fried rice (to be fried in with the left over chicken galbi later!)

As the same as usual Korean restaurants, banchan (side) dishes were served and they were refillable :D The kim chi, fired lotus with sesame dressing, fried crispy ikan bilis and the glass noodles stood out particularly. Yummy!

They fried the dakgalbi and presented the dish to us after frying. Did not manage to see them cook in front of us :( Doesn't the dakgalbi looked fantastic? :D

After finishing 3 quarters of the dakgalbi, the fried rice was fried into the leftover galbi. The delicious fried rice was pan fried with kimchi, generous serving of seaweed, sesame oil and sesame seed. The fried rice was delicious, better than what was shown in the photo! Thumbs Up for it! :D Had a fantastic lunch dakgalbi-ing! :P

Do give it a try if you are into Korean food! You will not want to miss this :D
